Easy - Peasy Orange Ice Cream

First a quick question?
Have you ever opened the fridge to stick your head in there and just soak in the cold during summers.....?? I have done that numerous times as a kid (I sometime do it even now)

As the summers are here what's more exciting than a nice soothing homemade icecream.
This easy-peasy ice cream recipe from just four easy ingredients readily available at our home can help you make ice cream without an ice cream machine. 
With this basic recipe, we all can go crazy with the versatile flavors too...

Serves 4
What you need? 
  • Milk: 2.5 cups (Full fat good any other will probably do just as good)
  • Sugar: 1/2 Cup
  • Oranges: 4 (Pick up the nice juicy ones)
  • Fresh Cream: 2 tablespoons (I scooped the layer of cream off the boiled milk) 
    Orange Ice  Cream
Optional Ingredients
  • Orange Essence: 1 tablespoon (Optional - I did not use but I think it might add to the flavor)
  • Orange Food Color: Just a pinch to enhance the color
  • Chocolate chips to garnish
Preparation
  • In a saucepan bring the milk to boil over medium flame
  • Add sugar and stir to dissolve (Keep the flame low to avoid burning)
  • Once Sugar is dissolved boil for another 5 mins 
  • Add the fresh cream and whisk well
  • Set the mixture aside for cooling  
While the mixture is cooling 
  • Bowl oranges carefully to make an ice cream cup - Refrigerate the cups 
  • Squeeze out orange juice from the pulp and strain carefully
Once the milk is cooled  
  • In a medium bowl combine add the mixture and combine with orange juice
  • Add Orange essence, color (if needed)
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours
After 2 hours
  • Whisk the mixture vigorously until smooth
  • Pour in your fancy orange cups 
  • Garnish with chocolate chips and refrigerate for 5 - 6 hours
TADAAAAAA!!!! There is your Easy-Peasy Orange Icecream....
